The accumulation of 14 alpha-methyl sterols correlates with the subsequent loss of ergosterol in the fungal cell wall and may be responsible for the antifungal activity of terconazole. Terconazole is used for the local treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis (moniliasis). |
