Qualitative and quantitative composition

Each capsule contains 40 mg doxycycline (as monohydrate).

Excipients with known effect: 102-150 mg of sucrose and 26.6-29.4 μg of Allura red AC aluminium lake (E129).

Doxycycline is primarily bacteriostatic and is believed to exert its antimicrobial effect by the inhibition of protein synthesis.
