Pharmaceutical Form

Tablet.

White, round, biconvex tablet of diameter 6.35mm, marked “T3” on one side, scored on reverse.

The score line is only to facilitate breaking for ease of swallowing and not to divide into equal doses.

Qualitative and quantitative composition

Each tablet contains 2mg of Loperamide hydrochloride.

Excipients with known effect: Each Norimode 2mg tablet contains 110.356 mg lactose.

Active Ingredient Description
Loperamide

By binding to opiate receptors in the gut wall, loperamide hydrochloride reduces propulsive peristalsis, increases intestinal transit time and enhances resorption of water and electrolytes. Loperamide increases the tone of the anal sphincter, which helps reduce faecal incontinence and urgency.
