Indication for Vardenafil

Population group: Suitable for men, only adults (18 years old or older)

Treatment of erectile dysfunction in adult men. Erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance.

In order for vardenafil to be effective, sexual stimulation is required.

Dosage regimens

Oral, between 5 and 20 milligrams, daily, one dose.

Detailed description

The recommended dose is 10 mg taken as needed approximately 25 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. Based on efficacy and tolerability the dose may be increased to 20 mg or decreased to 5 mg. The maximum recommended dose is 20 mg. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day.

Dosage considerations

It should be taken 25 to 60 minutes before sexual activity.

Vardenafil can be taken with or without food. The onset of activity may be delayed if taken with a high fat meal.

Active ingredient

Vardenafil is a potent and selective inhibitor of the cGMP specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), the most prominent PDE in the human corpus cavernosum. Vardenafil is an oral therapy for the improvement of erectile function in men with erectile dysfunction. In the natural setting, i.e. with sexual stimulation it restores impaired erectile function by increasing blood flow to the penis.
