Dosage regimens

Oral, 50 milligrams diacerein, once daily to dinner, over the duration of 2 to 4 weeks. Afterwards, oral, 50 milligrams diacerein, 2 times daily to meals, over the duration of 5 months.

Detailed description

The recommended dosage is 2 capsules daily, 1 in the morning, 1 in the evening.

Action onset is deferred: a period of 30 to 45 days precedes analgesic effect onset. Treatment may therefore have to be initiated with standard immediate action onset analgesics/anti-inflammatories.

Dosage considerations

The diacerein capsules should be swallowed whole, without chewing, with a glass of water, preferably during a meal.
