Product name and form

Camcolit 400 mg, controlled release Lithium Carbonate.

Pharmaceutical Form

Film-coated tablets.

White film coated tablet, engraved “CAMCOLIT-S” around one face and having a score line on the reverse. The tablet is a controlled release formulation. The score line is only to facilitate breaking for ease of swallowing and not to divide into equal doses.

Qualitative and quantitative composition

Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg lithium carbonate.

Active Ingredient Description
Lithium

Little is known about the way the lithium ion can modify neurotransmission within the CNS. Many of the proposed mechanisms have suggested an inhibitory effect on components of various neurotransmitter signalling pathways, such as cyclic AMP formation, cyclic GMP formation, G-proteins or inositol phosphate metabolism.
