Qualitative and quantitative composition

Active Constituent: Barium sulfate 4.9224% w/v (4.6% w/w).

Excipients with known effect:

Sorbitol, liquid (crystallising) (E420). Each 225 mL dose contains 16 g sorbitol.

Approximately 194 mg sodium per 225 mL dose.

Approximately 117 mg potassium per 225 mL dose.

Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218).

Active Ingredient Description
Barium sulfate

Barium sulfate is inert and has no pharmacological action. It serves only as a radiopaque substance to opacify the gastro-intestinal tract during X-ray examinations.
