4.1. Therapeutic indications

The administration of calcium dobesilate is indicated for the amelioration of symptoms associated with:

  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Chronic venous insufficiency (varicose veins, haemorrhoids)

4.2. Posology and method of administration

Posology

Diabetic retinopathy and chronic venous insufficiency: 500-1000mg once or twice a day. Treatment duration, which is generally between a few weeks and several months, depends on the disease and its evolution. Dosage should be adapted individually according to the severity of the case.

Method of administration

Capsules should be swallowed whole with a drink of water. It is recommended to take the drug during meal so as to avoid adverse reactions from the gastrointestinal tract.

4.9. Overdose

No cases of overdose are known. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.

6.3. Shelf life

60 months.

6.4. Special precautions for storage

Store below 25°C in the original package, in order to protect from light and moisture.

6.5. Nature and contents of container

PVC-Al blisters and PVC-securitainers.

Packs of 30, 60 and 100 capsules are available.

Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
