Each tablet contains the equivalent of 250 mg erythromycin base as erythromycin stearate.
Excipient with known effect: lactose.

Erythromycin exerts its antimicrobial action by binding to the 50S ribosomal sub-unit of susceptible microorganisms and suppresses protein synthesis. Erythromycin is bacteriostatic and bactericidal depending on its concentration and the type of organism. |

Tablets are supplied in aluminium foil-polyvinylchloride film blisters of ten tablets. Packs of 20 and 100 tablets, with a patient information leaflet, in a card carton are available. Dispensing packs of 100, 250, 500 or 1000 tablets are also available.
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
