Therapeutic indications

Danaparoid is indicated for:

Prevention of deep vein thrombosis in general or orthopaedic surgery

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Prevention of deep vein thrombosis and its possible consequences in patients undergoing general or orthopaedic surgery.

Thrombo-embolic disorders in development or history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT)

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Treatment of thrombo-embolic disorders in patients who require urgent parenteral anti-coagulation because of the development or history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT).

Danaparoid is contraindicated in the following cases:

Acute bacterial endocarditis

Acute bacterial endocarditis

Locoregional anaesthesia

Regional anesthesia

Severe haemorrhagic diathesis, haemophilia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura

Congenital thrombocytopenia
Hemophilia
Chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura

Haemorrhagic stroke in the acute phase

Cerebral hemorrhage

Uncontrollable active bleeding state

Bleeding

Severe uncontrolled hypertension

Active gastroduodenal ulcer
