Therapeutic indications

Deutetrabenazine is indicated for:

Moderate to severe tardive dyskinesia

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Deutetrabenazine is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe tardive dyskinesia in adults.

For this indication, competent medicine agencies globally authorize below treatments (click for details):

12 mg once daily for one week, 24 mg once daily for another week, and thereafter dose titration at weekly intervals up to 48 mg

Contraindications

Deutetrabenazine is contraindicated in the following cases:

Lactation

Hepatic impairment

Hepatic insufficiency

Reserpine

Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)

Other vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) inhibitors
