Therapeutic indications

Dorzolamide is indicated for:

Elevated intra-ocular pressure

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Dorzolamide is indicated as monotherapy in patients unresponsive to beta-blockers or in whom beta-blockers are contraindicated, in the treatment of elevated intra-ocular pressure in:

  • ocular hypertension,
  • open-angle glaucoma,
  • pseudoexfoliative glaucoma.

Contraindications

Dorzolamide is contraindicated in the following cases:

Severe renal impairment, hyperchloraemic acidosis

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)
Metabolic acidosis, NAG, acidifying salts
