Efalizumab

Therapeutic indications

Efalizumab is indicated for:

Chronic plaque psoriasis

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Treatment of adult patients with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis who have failed to respond to, or who have a contraindication to, or are intolerant to other systemic therapies including ciclosporin, methotrexate and PUVA.

For this indication, competent medicine agencies globally authorize below treatments (click for details):

0.7 mg/kg once and thereafter 1 mg/kg weekly

Contraindications

Efalizumab is contraindicated in the following cases:

Pregnancy

Lactation

Patients with history of malignancies

H/O: malignancy

Active tuberculosis, active severe infections

at least one of

Tuberculosis
Infectious disease

Patients with specific forms of psoriasis

at least one of

Guttate psoriasis
Erythrodermic psoriasis
Pustular psoriasis

Patients with immunodeficiencies

Immunodeficiency

Vaccinations
