Therapeutic indications

Opicapone is indicated for:

Parkinson's disease

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Opicapone is indicated as adjunctive therapy to preparations of levodopa/DOPA decarboxylase inhibitors (DDCI) in adult patients with Parkinson’s disease and end-of-dose motor fluctuations who cannot be stabilised on those combinations.

Contraindications

Opicapone is contraindicated in the following cases:

Phaeochromocytoma, paraganglioma, other catecholamine secreting neoplasms

at least one of
Phaeochromocytoma
Paraganglioma

History of neuroleptic malignant syndrome, history of non-traumatic rhabdomyolysis

at least one of
Neuroleptic malignant syndrome
Non-traumatic rhabdomyolysis

Monoamine oxidase (MAO-A and MAO-B) inhibitors
