Therapeutic indications

Porfimer is indicated for:

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) of high-grade dysplasia in Barrett's oesophagus

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) with porfimer is indicated for ablation of high-grade dysplasia (HGD) in patients with Barrett’s Oesophagus (BO).

Porfimer is contraindicated in the following cases:

Porphyria

Porphyria

Severe renal impairment

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)

Oesophageal or gastric varices, oesophageal ulcers

Esophageal varices

Tracheo-oesophageal fistula, broncho-oesophageal fistula
