Therapeutic indications

Protein C is indicated for:

Prophylaxis in severe congenital protein C deficiency undergoing surgery or invasive therapy

Population group: only children (1 year - 12 years old) , adolescents (12 years - 18 years old) , adults (18 years old or older)

Protein C is indicated for short-term prophylaxis in patients with severe congenital protein C deficiency if one or more of the following conditions are met:

  • surgery or invasive therapy is imminent
  • while initiating coumarin therapy
  • when coumarin therapy alone is not sufficient
  • when coumarin therapy is not feasible.
