Therapeutic indications

Rizatriptan is indicated for:

Headache phase of migraine attacks with or without aura

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Acute treatment of the headache phase of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults.

Contraindications

Rizatriptan is contraindicated in the following cases:

Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)

Severe hepatic insufficiency, severe renal insufficiency

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)

Cerebrovascular accident (CVA), transient ischaemic attack (TIA)

H/O: CVA
History of transient ischemic attack

Hypertension
