Therapeutic indications

Rota virus is indicated for:

Prevention of gastroenteritis due to rotavirus infection

Population group: only infants (40 days - 1 year old)

Rotavirus vaccine is indicated for the active immunisation of infants aged 6 to 24 weeks for prevention of gastroenteritis due to rotavirus infection.

Contraindications

Rota virus is contraindicated in the following cases:

Hypersensitivity after previous administration of rotavirus vaccines

Rotavirus vaccine allergy

History of intussusception

H/O: Disorder and additionally Intussusception of intestine

Uncorrected congenital malformation of the gastrointestinal tract

Congenital anomaly of gastrointestinal tract

Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) disorder

Severe combined immunodeficiency disease

Acute severe febrile illness

Disorder characterized by fever

Diarrhoea, vomiting

at least one of
Diarrhea
Vomiting
