Therapeutic indications

Sultamicillin is indicated for:

Infections caused by susceptible microorganisms

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

For the treatment of the following infections caused by susceptible microorganisms:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections including sinusitis, otitis media, epiglottitis, and tonsillitis
  • Lower respiratory tract infections including bacterial pneumonia and bronchitis
  • Urinary tract infections including pyelonephritis
  • Intraabdominal infections including peritonitis, cholecystitis, endometritis, and pelvic cellulitis
  • Bacterial septicemia
  • Skin and skin structure infections
  • Bone and joint infections

As step down treatment for infections due to susceptible organisms, initially given antimicrobial therapy, particularly parenteral ampicillin-sulbactam.
