Tinzaparin is indicated for:

Prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism in surgery

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism in adult patients undergoing surgery, particularly orthopaedic, general or oncological surgery.

Prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism in acute heart failure, acute respiratory failure, infections, cancer, rheumatic diseases

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism in non-surgical adult patients immobilised due to acute medical illness including: acute heart failure, acute respiratory failure, severe infections, active cancer, as well as exacerbation of rheumatic diseases.

Contraindications

Tinzaparin is contraindicated in the following cases:

Septic endocarditis

Malignant endocarditis

Hypersensitivity to tinzaparin

Tinzaparin allergy

Immune-mediated heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (type II)

White clot syndrome

Active major haemorrhage

Bleeding

Locoregional anaesthesia

Regional anesthesia
