Qualitative and quantitative composition

Each vial contains 739.5 mg clarithromycin lactobionate, corresponding to 500 mg clarithromycin.

Excipient(s) with known effect: This medicinal product contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per vial, that is to say essentially ‘sodium-free’.

Active Ingredient Description
Clarithromycin

Clarithromycin is a semi-synthetic derivative of erythromycin A. It exerts its antibacterial action by selectively binding to the 50s ribosomal sub-unit of susceptible bacteria preventing translocation of activated amino acids. It inhibits the intracellular protein synthesis of susceptible bacteria.

Uncoloured clear glass vial type I (15 ml), sealed with brombutyl rubber stopper and aluminium cap with plastic flip-off seal.
