Pharmaceutical Form

Tablet.

White to off-white, approximately 10 mm round, biconvex tablet marked “125 A” on one side and a scoreline on the other side.

The tablet can be divided into equal halves.

Qualitative and quantitative composition

Each tablet contains Metoprolol tartrate 100 mg.

Active Ingredient Description
Metoprolol

Metoprolol is a cardioselective beta-adrenergic blocking agent. It has a relatively greater blocking effect on beta1-receptors (ie those mediating adrenergic stimulation of heart rate and contractility and release of free fatty acids from fat stores) than on beta2-receptors, which are chiefly involved in broncho and vasodilation.

Pack sizes and marketing

Tablets are packed in PVC/PVdC – Aluminium blisters containing 10, 20, 28, 30, 50, 56, 60, 84 and 90 tablets.
