Therapeutic Indications

Amlodipine is indicated for:

Hypertension, chronic stable angina pectoris, vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina

Irrespective of gender only Children (1 year - 12 years old) , Adolescents (12 years - 18 years old)

Amlodipine is indicated for:

  • Hypertension
  • Chronic stable angina pectoris
  • Vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina

Treatment 1: Oral - 2.5-5 mg once daily

Hypertension, chronic stable angina pectoris, vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina

Irrespective of gender only Adults (18 years old or older)

Contraindications

Active ingredient Amlodipine is contraindicated in the following cases:

Obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle

No gender/age discrimination

Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle (e.g., high grade aortic stenosis).

Shock (including cardiogenic shock)

No gender/age discrimination

Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with shock (including cardiogenic shock).

Severe hypotension

No gender/age discrimination

Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with severe hypotension.

Haemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction

No gender/age discrimination

Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with haemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction.
