Brivudine

Chemical formula: C₁₁H₁₃BrN₂O₅  Molecular mass: 333.135 g/mol  PubChem compound: 446727

Interactions

Brivudine interacts in the following cases:

Dopaminergic drugs

Post-marketing experience indicates a possible interaction of brivudin with anti-Parkinson dopaminergic drugs, that may facilitate the onset of chorea (abnormal, involuntary, dance-like movements, especially of arms, legs and face).

Liver disease

Bribudin should be used with caution in patients with chronic liver disease, such as hepatitis. Post-marketing evidence suggests that extending treatment beyond the recommended 7-day duration increases the risk of developing hepatitis.

Cross-check medications

Review your medication to ensure that there are no potentially harmful drug interactions or contraindications.
