Therapeutic indications

Cannabidiol is indicated for:

Seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome or Dravet syndrome

Population group: only children (1 year - 12 years old) , adolescents (12 years - 18 years old) , adults (18 years old or older)

Cannabidiol is indicated for use as adjunctive therapy of seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) or Dravet syndrome (DS), in conjunction with clobazam, for patients 2 years of age and older.

For this indication, competent medicine agencies globally authorize below treatments (click for details):

2.5 mg/kg twice daily the first week, 5 mg/kg twice daily the second week and thereafter 7.5-10 mg/kg twice daily

Seizures associated with tuberous sclerosis complex

Population group: only children (1 year - 12 years old) , adolescents (12 years - 18 years old) , adults (18 years old or older)

Cannabidiol is indicated for use as adjunctive therapy of seizures associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) for patients 2 years of age and older.

For this indication, competent medicine agencies globally authorize below treatments (click for details):

2.5 mg/kg twice daily the first week, 5 mg/kg twice daily the second week and thereafter 7.5-12.5 mg/kg twice daily

Contraindications

Cannabidiol is contraindicated in the following cases:

Lactation

Effects on ability to drive and use machines

Patients with transaminase and bilirubin elevations

at least one of

Serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase level raised
Alanine aminotransferase above reference range
Increased bilirubin level
