Reteplase

Therapeutic indications

Reteplase is indicated for:

Myocardial infarction

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Reteplase is indicated for the thrombolytic treatment of suspected myocardial infarction with persistent ST elevation or recent left Bundle Branch Block within 12 hours after the onset of acute myocardial infarction AMI symptoms.

Contraindications

Reteplase is contraindicated in the following cases:

Haemorrhagic diathesis

Blood coagulation disorder

Oral anticoagulants

at least one of
Vitamin K antagonists
Platelet aggregation inhibitors excl. heparin
Direct thrombin inhibitors

Intracranial neoplasm, arteriovenous malformation or aneurysm

at least one of
Intracranial tumour
Intracranial vascular malformation
Cerebral aneurysm

Neoplasm with increased bleeding risk

Neoplastic disease and additionally High risk of hemorrhage

Cerebrovascular accident

H/O: CVA

External heart massage

Manual external cardiac massage with closed chest

Peptic ulceration

Peptic ulcer

Severe uncontrolled hypertension

Hypertensive crisis

Portal hypertension, oesophageal varices
