Active ingredients in P01C

Active Ingredient Description
Eflornithine

Eflornithine irreversibly inhibits ornithine decarboxylase, an enzyme involved in the production of the hair shaft by the hair follicle. Eflornithine has been shown to reduce the rate of hair growth.

Meglumine
Miltefosine

Miltefosine has a marked direct antileishmanial activity in vitro and in animal models. Leishmania donovani was the most sensitive species in promastigote and amastigote test systems.

Nifurtimox

Nifurtimox is an antiprotozoal drug. It is used in pediatric patients for the treatment of Chagas disease (American Trypanosomiasis) caused by Trypanosoma cruzi. Nifurtimox exposure-response relationships and the time course of pharmacodynamics response are unknown.

Nitrofurazone
Pentamidine

Pentamidine isetionate is an aromatic diamine. It is an antiprotozoal agent which acts by interfering with DNA and folate transformation, and by the inhibition of RNA and protein synthesis.
